2014 Harvest Notes

2014 Harvest Notes The 2014 vintage was another exceptional year for the Napa Valley. Increased rainfall during the spring months allowed the vines to access much needed soil water at bud break, compared to the drier 2013 spring months. Successful flowering set a sizeable crop load, which allowed us to selectively prune down to choice vines throughout the year. The warm, dry conditions towards the maturation phase of berry development created concentrated clusters of grapes; perfect for making aromatic wines with intense, concentrated palates.

Tasting Notes

Unfolds with aromas of crushed blackberries, plums and slight hints of Fall foliage accented by notes of dark chocolate, cassis and cranberries that develop the longer one appreciates the bouquet. Ripe yet elegant on the palate, with crushed red fruit flavor, framed by crisp acidity that gives structure and poise to this wine. Subtle oak on the finish ending with hints of caramel, toasted plums and baker’s spice.

Chardonnay, Napa Valley

2015 Harvest Notes

The 2015 vintage provided an excellent growing season for the Napa Valley. Naturally low yields from a cool period of weather during fruit-set created concentrated grapes clusters. Warm to moderate temperatures throughout the year helped preserve acidity, while rapidly generating sugars. The 2015 harvest was one of the earliest on record, with blocks handpicked by mid-September featuring fruit that was notably ripened to perfection, intense and delightfully aromatic with an incredible balance of acidity.

Tasting Notes

Aromatically complex yet generous. This wine offers up melon, fresh cut pear and Jasmin flowers alongside brioche, pain grille and stone fruit. On the palate the wine is creamy and smooth with gentle acidity that allows the wine to finish fresh. The flavor of early season nectarines combine with cantaloupe tied in with freshly mown hay, ripe lemons and hints of baking spice creating a wine that’s complex, intense and enjoyable.
